South San Gabriel is a census-designated place located in Los
Angeles County, California, United States. As of the 2000 census,
the CDP had a total population of 7,595. South San Gabriel is
located at 34°2'57" North, 118°5'43" West (34.049060,
-118.095150)GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau,
the CDP has a total area of 2.1 km² (0.8 mi²). 2.1 km²
(0.8 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

As the nation’s second largest school district, the Los
Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) serves more than 730,000
