Santee is a city in San Diego County, in the San Diego-Carlsbad metro area. The community is in the Pacific Standard time zone.The latitude of Santee is 32.838N. The longitude is -116.973W. The estimated population, in 2003, was 52,942. The community was named after Milton Santee, first postmaster. A brand new shopping and dining center, simply named the Santee Town Center, opened in 2004 on the site of the San Diego Trolley stop. A new YMCA also opened nearby.
