Real Estate Pre-Licensing and Brokers Course

Our Policies

Student Conduct

    The school reserves the right to expel any student for noncompliance with school policies or unsatisfactory progress.  Such students will not receive any refunds for tuition or textbooks.

Refunds and fees

    Full refunds will be provided to any student wishing to withdraw prior to the first class. Registration and textbook fees are not refundable.  Once class begins, students agree to notify the school in writing for any withdrawals.  Refunds will be available up through the 3rd day of instruction on a prorated basis.  No refunds will be given after the 3rd session. Students who drop out without written notice will automatically forfeit any refund.

Attendance, Absence & Make up

    Each student enrolled in our Pre-License and Broker course is required to attend all classes in a timely matter.  The instructor will begin classes promptly and will not go over any missed material. Make up classes will be only be offered at the next offering of the course.

Grading and Standards

    Upon completion of required class hours, each student must register a minimum score of 70% for Salespersons and 75% for Brokers to obtain a certificate to take the State Exam. The score is based on the general and state portions of the exam.
     The State Exam consists of the general practices of real estate and the State Laws pursuant to real estate practices in Hawaii.  The Exam consists of multiple choice questions. Students who do not score 70% or better for the Salespersons course or 75% or better for the Brokers course on both portions of the Exam must retake the entire test.

Class Hours

    Weekday class hours begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at 10:00 p.m. Classes held on Saturdays begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m.  Lunch breaks on Saturdays are half an hour. Classes will not be held on state or federal holidays.

All payments must be received in full one week prior to the first class.  There is a $50 late payment fee.

Eligibility Requirements

    All applicants interested in applying for the course must be at least 18 years of age and a United States citizen or permanent resident. Broker candidates must complete the "Application for Broker Experience Certificate" and fulfill the requirements as published by the Hawaii Real Estate Commission. The Application will be approved by the Executive Secretary of the Real Estate Commission and a certificate of experience will be distributed to sit for the state exam.

School Calendar

    45 hours of class instruction is required for the Salespersons Course and 48 hours of class instruction is required for the Broker Course. Classes conflicting with state or federal holidays will be rescheduled for the next date available.

Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and
Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
An additional session is added to the Broker
Schedule to meet class hour requirements.
Excluding State or Federal Holidays.

About Us

    The Premier Realty 2000, Inc. Real Estate Pre-licensing and Brokers Course is owned and operated by Premier Realty 2000, Inc., a real estate corporation established in May 1999.

Bill Vanmanen
Course Instructor

Instructor

    Bill Vanmanen serves as the school instructor.  Bill has been a licensed Real Estate agent in Hawaii since 1979, and a licensed Broker since 1982.  He has been a Principal Broker for two different companies over the years and also runs his own company.  He is currently a broker-salesman dealing in resort condominiums and investment properties.

   Bill's teaching credentials include ten years of teaching Orientation and Ethics classes for the Honolulu Board of Realtors and now teaching the NAR required Ethics Training.  Bill's association with the Board of Realtors dates to 1983 with participation in the membership committee.  He served eight years on the Professional Standard Committee, one year as chair, during which and is currently serving on the Grievances Committee.

   Bill graduated from Western Michigan University with degrees in Business Administration and Accounting.  He also has been trained as a mediator and arbitrator.  He also acts as a foreclosure commissioner and as an expert witness in the private sector

School Principal

    Susan Yoshioka serves as the School Principal. Susan graduated from Roosevelt High School and holds a B.A. in Business from Woodbury College.

Objective

    Students enrolling in our school will be taught the basic principles and practices of real estate in Hawaii.  Advanced topics will be covered during additional class hours for the Brokers exam. Students who successfully pass the course requirements will be given a Certificate of Successful Completion to satisfy the educational requirement to take the State Licensing Examination for Real Estate Salespersons or Real Estate Broker in the State of Hawaii.

School Curriculum and Description

    Each student will use the Principles and Practices of Hawaii Real Estate as the primary textbook during the course of instruction.  The basic curriculum includes: Licensing laws for real estate, listing and contract information, agency and contract laws, real estate math and appraisals, property management, fair housing laws, condominium, and subdivision and time share law.  Students are welcome to inspect and review the school curriculum.

Length of Course

    The course length will total 45 hours of classroom instruction for the Pre-license course and 48 hours of classroom instruction for the Broker course. See class dates for a time which suits your schedule.  All students are required to attend all classes.

Minimum Students for Classes

    The class will not be offered unless there are a minimum of five (5) students registered.
