About Jamul
Jamul is in San Diego County, in the San Diego-Carlsbad metro
area. The community is in the Pacific Standard time zone. The
latitude of Jamul is 32.716N. The longitude is -116.875W. The
population, at the time of the 2000 census, was 5,920. Jamul is
a semi-rural area south of El Cajon and north of Dulzura. The
city is well known for its Indian reservation. The Kumeyaay Indians
have been living in the Jamul area for millennia; today the tribe
consists of a small group of members. The city also has one of
the largest nurseries in the west; Simpson's Garden Town Nursery
has been in a part of Jamul for almost a century.
