Jacumba is in San Diego County, in the San Diego-Carlsbad metro area. The community is in the Pacific Standard time zone. The latitude of Jacumba is 32.617N. The longitude is -116.188W. The community name derives from Indian term for "hut by the water" Jacumba is located in Eastern San Diego along the US/Mexican boarder. It is bordered by the Anza Borrego Desert State Park, the Jacumba Mountains, and the Sonoran Desert and is known for its wildlife, rock formations, canyons and springs. This small community has a population of less than 1,000, a small airport for gliders on weekends and the Jacumba Hot Springs Resort.
