About Corona
Corona is a city in Riverside County, in the Riverside-San Bernardino
metro area. The community is in the Pacific Standard time zone.
The latitude of Corona is 33.875N. The longitude is -117.565W.
The estimated population, in 2003, was 142,454 The community name
derives from Spanish for "crown." Former and merged
community names include: Circle City, South Riverside Early international
road races occurred here along the circular Grand Boulevard. Tin
mining was an early industry. The mine stopped producing in 1893.
Once a citrus center; with residential development overtaking
the orchards, Sunkist closed its plant in 1982. Public transportation:

in 1896 as a small farming community best known for its produce,
Corona is now a quality community with a population of more than
148,000 and a diverse economic base. Home to 450-500 general-aviation
aircraft, "the friendliest little airport in the world"
is open to all visitors during daylight hours. The 100-acre airport
is strictly recreational, with no commercial flights Among the
largest of the City's 32 parks, 21-acre Santana Regional Park
in south central Corona offers lighted soccer fields, ball fields,
a covered picnic area suitable for group use, and more than 400
