Understandably, many homebuyers worry about how their credit will affect their ability to qualify for a mortgage. What’s my credit score?  How much do they know?  Will I be denied a loan because I returned that video late?

Of course, that could never happen. Most people need not worry about the effects of their credit history during the mortgage process. However, if you have had credit problems, be prepared to discuss them honestly with our Loan Specialist and come to your application meeting with a written explanation. We understand there can be legitimate reasons for credit problems in times of unemployment, illness or other financial difficulties. If you had a problem that's since been corrected and your payments have been on time for a year or more, your credit may be considered satisfactory.
